THE ELEPHANTS HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT
The elephants, my family and I got together this morning and decided to pick 3 winners for the draw instead of just one. Thank you to everyone who left a comment on April 15th. Alice (my mom) and Alice (the elephant) really appreciated it. I haven't found out if my sister managed to snap a shot of my mom reading the blog but if she did I will be sure to post it. The winners are :
I have contacted the winners by email so that they can choose their prizes . If you didn't win don't fret there is always next time because I love giving things away. So how has your weekend been. In Ontario it has warmed up so much that you can almost watch the trees and flowers open up. I have been for walks in the woods twice this weekend. This morning my husband and I saw a beautiful garter snake and a few butterflies. They reminded me of a children's story I remember reading a while ago. I am sorry I don't remember the title or author but it was about a little girl who really wanted to see the wild life that lived in the forest and make friends with them. She was always hurrying and noisy so the animals would always run away from her. One day she went out into the forest and just stood as still and quiet as she could and all the animals came around her and made friends with her. When we spotted the snake I was trying my hardest to follow it and get a picture. I just about gave up and was standing still near a fallen tree when I looked down at my boots and low and behold there was the snake coming to say hello.
I love being in the woods before the black flies and mosquitos wake up ( which might be next week if it stays this warm).
A perfect end to a perfect weekend.

Gorgeous photos! I love the "walk" you took us on with you. :-) Hettie (via Flickr)
