I have been very busy behind the scenes working on my PLUSH YOU 2009 contributions. I was really happy to hear that Kristen didn't really want to receive them too early. These soft art toys began with an idea, as most things do. I really wanted to design them around the silkscreened image of a crochet covered stone. You might remember it from my workshop with arounna at bookhou. I wanted them to look fresh, modern and yet incorporate some old world crafting with embroidery and as you will see later with the other ones a little bit of crochet.
I saw this movie in Primary school & loved it thank you for the memory of such a magical childhood adventure

These are wonderful, Margie! Is that satin stitching on the first one, in the pink flower? If so, your stitching is impeccable! Wow, what a lot of beautiful work you're doing. You are one of the most productive, actualized people imaginable. I want to be like you when I grow up!

Love the pink snail! I have great memories of the Dr. Dolittle movie as well. And I just saw the latest Harry Potter movie with my son and remarked that Luna Lovegood was the strongest character in the film. Your matryoshka turtles are beautiful!

I love Luna Lovegood as well! I also love the detail on the turtles and pink snail....all the stitches. :) Very cute!
