How exactly good it is
to know myself
in the solitude of winter,
my body containing its own
warmth, divided from all
by the cold; and to go
separate and sure
among the trees cleanly
divided, thinking of you
perfect too in your solitude,
your life withdrawn into
your own keeping
--to be clear, poised
in perfect self-suspension
toward you, as though frozen.
And having known fully the
goodness of that, it will be
good also to melt.

Hope everyone is warm and cosy this weekend
but not too warm ( for all my warm climate friends)
amazing poetry & amazing photos my friend :) Funny how I would love my weather to be colder than it is right now. The winds have blown a lot last night & the trees look more bare now, therefore a bit more wintery.
You take good care of your wound & relax as much as you can. Big hugs your way xoxoxo

Mr Winter's friends are my friends.
I loved this poem, and your pictures are dreamy, as always.
Days are just getting a tad chiller, here ... At last !
Will you collaborate with Benjamin, again ?
Hope that you're well,

Living California we never get frost like this. The most we get is crunchy grass. I love how blogs give us a little window to see other places and things.

Photos 2, 4, and 6 are my favorites. i love the color in the 6th one. And the one with the frosted leaf edges- beautiful. Wendel Berry is also a poet that I love. I have used some of his poems in my upgrading classes.
