My theme is the dolphin searching for lost treasures at sea for the Lost at Sea show in May at Gallery hanahou, New York City. Here is what I have been working on so far.
I love working with vintage hankies. The shell is made with a very feminine hankie on the outside and a men's hankie on the inside. Cotton quilting batting in between and the segments of the shell are carefully stuffed with lambs wool to add to the three dimensional shape.
Lovely.

I love everything, it's just beautiful.
And I thought I didn't like dolphins ...
You are a true poet, Margie ♥ ♥ ♥

Margie it's all so wonderful - I love every part of it. Are you using the weathered frame too, it's perfect. I love your little sea anemone style crochet stone, it's so delicate and pretty, like the real things!

I love everything from the chippy frame to the dolphin caught mid-swim to the amazing clam. I think right at this moment, that clam has completely stolen my heart. What a clever thing to know that its pearl is your amazing stone. You're my hero.

They are all so lovely, but the shell is really precious. I wish I could be in NY to see them up close.

The softness of the shell is quite striking. It is a surprise, as we are used to the hardness of a shell. And, out comes one of your lovely covered stones!

I am so in love with this little collection! Be sure to send out advance notice on your show - I live in Boston and it would definitely be worth a little trip down south to see your work and say hi and, of course, toast your success :)

All lovely. I've been toying with making a scallop using a technique similar to yours. I'll definitely have to get the tools out to begin.

It's all so beautiful! I showed Hana, our girl who is five, and she thinks the dolphin's magic. That shell is so enchanted. What a wonderful, dreamy piece you are creating...
ps - I received my stone yesterday, and I love it, actually we all do, it has been lifted and studied many times. Thank you!
