Tamara and I went to the raspberry fields this morning to pick and nibble. We started in row 11 and danced our way in and out of the rows until next thing we knew we had four baskets full. Tamara made jam, beautiful crimson colored jam but as I stared at the jars I couldn't help but feel something was missing. Or perhaps was it that someone has been missing, being on holiday in England and all. A quick trip to the fabric shelf, pinking shears and some elastics and voila, everything was as it should be.
Crab cakes with sweet potatoe fries for an early supper on the porch (thanks tamara) accompanied by a chilled ontario unoaked chardonnay. Ahhhhhh.
Still many more berries left for raspberry upside down cake, pies and pancakes.
