The mushroom forest road trip ( don't take that figuratively) was really to collect polypores that I just recently learned are useful for dyeing and store very well ( extra bonus when dyeing days are limited).
I am so looking forward to my dyeing classes that I am taking along with arounna at the workroom next week.
This makes me happy. My husband and I are long time amateur mycologists (also in Canada!) and this is our favorite time of year. These pictures are lovely!
PS. I'm also in love with Geninne's art. :)

I am definitely going polypore hunting with you one day :) Haven't seen any here in the desert...we'll have to look for something else. Oh! I know! air plants...there are plenty of those!

I want to try this so badly! Do you know any good books or websites about dyeing with them?

Another set of wonderful pictures Margie. I love them all. I can't wait to see how your next experiments turn out. I'm so happy you get to have another wonderful day with Arounna next week, I enjoy seeing the wonderful art you create together :)

your forests grow the most amazing mushrooms, Margie. I've noticed a couple of ones I had seen back in August (in our local mountains) I'm sure you'll have a ball with Arounna next week. I'm so super jealous LOL Have a good friday my friend oxoxo

What amazing beauties Margie.
Must tell you about the bioluminescent mushrooms I saw recently in the rainforest not far from my place. You would have loved them I'm sure.
