I am wandering in my making. The journey began with north american aboriginal inspired embroidered designs, floated on plant dyed felt feathers, rested and restored on hand stitched medicine shields and then meditated on spiral running stitches on vintage apron fabric turning themselves into a fabric bowl. Running stitching in a spiral starting from the edge and working inwards to the center is akin to the meditative process of walking a labyrinth.
It makes a lovely vessel for the wooden and seed beads I removed from a handful of necklaces purchased at the thrift store on friday. I love those colors.
I wonder where my slow journey will take me next.
