i met a tiny bit of sunshine with eight legs on my walk today. I love how she is hanging on the stem of the wildflower pretending to be a little blossom herself. These little spiders can change color from yellow to white and back again depending on the flower they are hanging around on. It takes longer to turn to white, about 12 days so perhaps she was hanging out waiting for the costume change.
i am kind of happy i caught her before she turned white.
I have wondered about these spiders! Last summer there was a yellow one on a Black-eyed Susan in my garden, and a few years ago there was a white one on Queen Ann's Lace. I figured they were related, as they both had the red markings and caught unsuspecting bees as they landed on flowers, but I had no idea that they could change color! I am not actually a spider lover, or even liker, but I was transfixed by those two, and I hope another comes to live in my garden this summer.

well, wow !!
I'm happy when I manage to spot something that could have been overlooked so easily
yesterday I spotted a spider with her eggs, but she was faster than me, the time I went to grab the camera & put the macro lens, she was almost gone & my photo is all blurry :( Nevermind. She taught me to go faster next time LOL
