as you can imagine we are having an amazing time but i just wanted to pop in and share a few images from the closing reception of the winged migration show and also the fabulous workshop at bookhou. I am almost certain that we will be able to convince geninne to visit again but maybe not during the hottest day on record in toronto.
if you are in the area please stop by to meet some fine feathered friends tonight at the closing party of winged migration. Geninne arrived last night and we want to continue to give her a warm welcome:)
Harry Lumsden is just such a local eco hero. For nearly three decades the self-taught biologist, now 86 and retired from the Ministry of Natural Resources, with the help of dozens of volunteers has brought the trumpeter swans back to Ontario. There are well over 1,000 trumpeters in the south-central part of the province now and there were none in 1982 when he started the rescue program.
