after traveling over 5000 km by car
moving 10 ( or was it 11) car loads of stuff for 4 lovely people
squeezing in time for brief yet very enjoyable trips to five beaches
where i collected some stones ( of course)
and took some pictures ( of course)
i was wondering what to post
and
decided
to post
the unexpected
which deserves at least a little explanation
when we were enjoying the summer weather that arrived on the east coast when we did ( coincidence?) I decided to go for a walk down martinique beach ( the longest sand beach in nova scotia)
i met up with some darling little birds balancing on one leg on the beach and wanted to change lenses ( to the macro)
on doing so I don't think I put the lense on tightly because when i checked the photographs that evening they were all super over exposed
i thought my camera was broken but thank goodness it wasn't
i was just going to delete all the pics of that day but when i took a closer look at them i actually like many of them
they have a very artsy look to them
i mean that in a good way
i wonder what you think....
(before the messed up lens change)
bekki bird
rebekah and matthew
deborah and kevin
back to work tomorrow
wish me luck:)
I think they are wonderful! They look like paintings!
So happy you're back :)

Welcome back. Those photos are really cool!
I've been embracing the unexpected too lately. I am writing to you from my parents house in New-Brunswick (visiting my great aunt who is ailing), and this unexpected turn of events has meant that I too have been beach-combing, taking lots of photos, spending time with my loved ones. Tomorrow I make the loooong drive home...
Have a great week (luckily, it's a short one, eh?)

They're beautiful. They have a quality about them, I can't put my finger on it. They remind me a little of looking at slides, before they're in the slide projector. I like your happy accident. xo

welcome back margie
I love them all - sometimes accidents result in something unforeseen.
I can't wait to see more photos from your trip.

the photos remind me of the little bits of detail that i can recall of a dream; certain parts so clear, and other parts almost drifting away. really nice to me!

they're like paintings Margie. Reminds me of Becky Blair's beach paintings infact. http://www.beckyblairartist.co.uk/display_image.asp?PaintingID=84&Mode=History

They're quite graphic and really lovely! So wonderful to see you back. I'm sure R and D loved having you there and really appreciate all your help. Very fun that you also were able to squeeze in some beach visits too.

Was it your daughter I saw on the CTV news one night last week talking about the wonderful pickings streetside on garbage day? Good for her!! Driving around Halifax that day and seeing all the perfectly good stuff that had been dumped by students moving out made me want to scream at our wasteful society. I hope she and her friends scored some good pieces. Glad you brought the good weather with you, thanks very much.
