I had a beautiful tabby for 18½ years called Mackenzie King (after the Prime Minister). He was a lovely, sometimes crabby (especially with other people) cat. I nursed him through diabetes during the last 7 years of his life. I found out that I was allergic to him a few years after I got him but loved him too much to give him up. It was only after he died that I realized the extent of my allergy. My asthma virtually disappeared. I would so love to have another cat, my eldest daughter too. I have my dog now. I grew up with dogs so I am very, very happy. But I still see Mackenzie out of the corners of my eye and particularly miss him when I am resting on the sofa as he had radar and knew whenever I was there. :)
