This nest reminded me of how each year my father took my sister and I out to choose a Christmas tree. We spent hours in the cold driving form one tree lot to another for the perfect tree. One year, I discovered a little nest deep in our tree's branches, and took it for a sign of good fortune. Ever since, I have included that little nest into decorating my tree. Now, many (many) years later, it has gained some little bird occupants, and is displayed prominently at the front of the tree. On walks through the woods, I would sometimes find a small nest as in your photo, and now my sons also have a nest for their trees.
