warming the air with it's firey breath
do you see the dragon imagery ?
i must have passed by this small tree over a hundred times
but i never noticed these tiny red flowers in the spring before
the catkins were already heavy laden with pollen
I fear the trees will push forth their leaves and close the canopy before the wild flowers have had a fair chance of pushing their way out of the dead leaf covered ground this year.
Very beautiful photos. Not to diminish human and political responsibility (which is connected with our current environment deeply and seriously) but nature has a way of looking after things. The beginning of spring is frequently unpredicable. I remember several years ago when the snow melted in January and the bulbs and buds started to emerge and then the cold came back and everything slowed down again.

Unpredictable. (English major, have trouble letting typos, spelling mistakes go) :)

Spring is usually the most surprising of all seasons, and it's particularly right this year. Let's hope it won't get cold again sometimes in April, otherwise all plants would heavily suffer from this. I love the imagery you used here. (and I do hope the wildflowers will make it through)

you are lucky, here on the west coast (vancouver island) our first day of spring was sun, cloud, wind, hail, rain, snow. but lets face it, that is a typical day for us anyways. Love your pics.

Those red flower are female flower hazel tree. We can see them only during a rather short time. Nice observation!
