i was thinking of calling this life and death
but in my profession that takes on a whole new meaning
I am overflowing with photographs from my east coast trip
and decided to start at the end instead of the beginning
the last few days of this trip were spent in Halifax helping deborah set up her very first apartment
and staying with my daughter rebekah and her husband matthew
my favorite thing besides spending wonderful time with my children
was walking through the camp hill cemetery
and then across the street to the Halifax public gardens
there was a dahlia celebration going on
so much fun to photograph these cheerful blooms
in the cemetery i think i may have found some relatives on my mom's side of the family
and
at least one that I wished had been my relative
i am in love with the name violet stone:)
Thank you for taking us there with you, it is soooo green ! (I'm green with envy, pun intended) I loved your daliah photos on IG & I'm so happy to see them again here ! They were pretty exceptional !!
It's so good to have you back.

What a beautiful parade of dahlias! Violet Stone would be a good name for a character in a novel.

Oh I just love Halifax! It's been way too long since I last visited.
Beautiful flowers... I guess summer's not quite over yet!

Poor Violet. "A PUPIL AT THE SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF", aged 17... I wished she would have been a "BELOVED DAUGHTER".

A beautiful spot, a beautiful name too.
I really love the variety of shapes and colours in dahlias. Our village hall will be brimming with them on Saturday for the village flower festival :)

My mother's name was Violet and as it happens she was deaf. She was born in May of 1927, a couple months after Violet Stone passed away. Just kind of struck me as unusual.
