although i can't promise that one of the other 100's of photographs I took won't slip into a post sometime in the future
i want to try to unstick myself from the east coast shore until my next visit there
although my heart will always remain as long as I have family there ( rebekah, matthew and deborah) and ancestral roots
this last (wink, wink) set is more about the weathered, worn and lovingly restored
i was reading on another blog about PVSD , post vacation stress disorder and feel it might explain how I have been feeling the last few weeks
hopefully i will feel lovingly restored very soon by my ontario family

the last photograph is the place where the oats ran down to feed into the grist on the level below
it was the smoothest piece of helmock or any other wood for that matter
that i have ever felt
i wish you could have touched it
Like you I blogged about my summer holidays all through September!I couldn't get it out of my mind.AriadnefromGreece!

What a beautiful place indeed, thanks for sharing the photos with us. I'm sorry you've been feeling family-deprived after such a lovely time with them over there. As a mother, I can imagine the pain it must be to have children so far away. Sending you love, and tons of hugs xoxo

That piece of hemlock looks like silk!
What beautiful pictures!
Good thing you've got that cute piece of sunshine called Lilith to tide you over until your next trip east :-)

The end of holiday blues, sorry you've got them. I feel the same every year when we come back from Suffolk. This year we haven't even made it there and I am suffused with longing for the Suffolk coast. Next year!
Lovely photos Margie as always, and that pile of Bookhou in the last post ... am I ever envious!!

I can only imagine how soft the wood was on the chute in your last photo... It looks like velvet. I'm suffering a bit of a post-vacation let down myself after spending a long weekend in San Francisco with my sister and her husband and meeting my wonderful ten-week-old niece. Coming back to New York and knowing I must go back to my job in Manhattan on Monday is very hard to adjust to. Hope you're feeling a bit better :)
