The photos are beautiful, Margie. I agree. This day is not about government decisions. It's about love and respect for those who have served and those who do serve.

My great grandfather was a stretcher bearer in the Boer War and was in the ambulance corps in WWI. He was never the same afterwards.

Veteran's Day here in the USA . Much the same reason and celebrations. Beautiful golden light.

Rememberance Day here, although our biggest celebratory events usually take place on the Sunday beforehand. There's no public holiday here but work places and shops and so one observed a two minute silence at 11am on the 11th.

May we never forget x
