It has been ages since I hung out with my dear friend arounna. In fact I hadn't even had a chance to give her the birthday gift I made. Her birthday was quite a while ago. She fell in love with the sisal feed sac purse she saw on a woman in san miquel de allende and I wanted to make something similar. I crocheted it using organic natural linen from quince and co. I also naturally dyed some of the very same linen for her in different colours to inspire her.
I wasn't expecting anything from her but she surprised me with one of her twisted leather bracelets :) and the very first thing she made from her new "stones" screen. She told me that this design was inspired by my crochet covered stones. It is so wonderfully perfect.
The weather is turning cool this week and may even tip just below freezing overnight. Time to bring the color indoors and find a suitable warm cozy place for the indigo and woad fermentation vats. I am thinking the warm south facing kitchen will be the best choice. That is where I was was shooting the product shots for my etsy shop. It was also a wonderful surprise to see my favorite etsy shop couple as the featured sellers today.
This was really such a happy colorful family of stones and pebbles that it will be hard for me to send them out into the world.
ps there are still some beautiful hand dyed stones and scarves in the shop. This might be the last update before the season of giving. If you would like any of the bamboo pebbles turned in to brooches just send a little message after purchase.
