What a wonderful post. You're probably right, it's not everyone who makes softies and also works as a physician in their day job!

Your entries are wonderful! Those mushrooms are a favorite of mine.

I have made little things for my kids as they've grown, too. I made my daughter a Waldorf-style doll when she was two. She still considers "Sarah" her most precious belonging. Lately, I've been making my kids little knitted treasures---they enjoy them so much. My son carries his around in his pockets and takes them to his Dad's house. I think they give him a bit of reassurance.

Sometimes I think it's silly to be making such frivolous things but when I see how much joy they give my kids and how they put a smile on my own face it feels worth it to me.

I am so happy that you are participating in the Softies central contest this year Margie! All your entries are great :)
Elsita .

I love the knitted piece that you have at the top of your blog. I would like to make a dishcloth with that pattern on it. Is it a pattern that you have designed yourself? Where can I find this pattern. Thanks for any help you can give me.

best of luck to you! I have been visiting your blog and love the photos and inspiration you always provide!

my fingers are crossed for you, m. all of your softies are so beautiful, i'm sure the judges will have a difficult time deciding! it is lovely to see the waldorf toys, too. they bring back such sweet memories :)
