I got home so late this evening after stopping by the bookstore to buy four copies of Country Living with the picture of my little rock star in it. No time for new ideas or fresh photographs so I thought I would show you the smocked top I made a little while ago with the finished crochet covered "stress stone" necklace. I made this necklace for my daughter so she could rub the stone hanging around her neck instead of nibbling on her nails.
It might be hard to see in that picture but there is a lovely smooth depression in the stone just perfect for the size of a finger tip.
My smocked top is natural cotton dyed in a tea bath. I love its simplicity and raw edges. I will try to get some pictures on a real live model on the weekend.
Some lovely links for you to explore.
Kate at design*sponge has posted at sweet tutorial for linocut stamps on stones inspired by my work.
Heather Moore ( i love her work) has posted about my work at Elle Decoration South Africa.
And my new secret art installation was mentioned on the red thread blog.
I love the idea and look of your
worry stone, what a great idea
for nail nibblers. Your merfish
are cute as ever too!
I love the smock!!!
Did you make the smock? The
tea bath made it look so vintage!
You are so talented! Your kids
are so lucky to have you!
We all are, than you for just
being you!
Loads of love to you and yours,
Rane and little Rose

It is so exciting to see your work being recognized so widely. It is also exciting to see how happy it makes people to enjoy your work :) Pure, simple (and yet so complex!), beautiful, natural. It is like tangible joy :)
About the other thing (which at first feels a bit like a wrench in the gut)... just keep being who you beautifully are in the beautiful way that you do. Others may want to emulate that, but yours comes right from the source. (My expression is kind of clumsy, but hopefully my support is conveyed)

The 'stress stone' necklace is such a wonderful idea. It is beautiful, as is the smock. I was sorry to read of your work being duplicated ~ sadly, this seems to happen regularly. But keep on doing what you do ~ your work is unique and no one can 'copy' it successfully.

Don't worry, nobody will steal you your creativity, but I understand how bad it feels!

Beautiful! I love the idea of the worry stone. The stone itself is gorgeous and the crochet work only adds to it. Congratulations on the well-deserved attention! Your stones have obviously captivated people world wide.

Love! This reminds me of the sort of things my mom would dress me in when I was a little girl - child of a hippie, you ask? Oh, yes.

My worry stone _did_ stop my nail-biting habit in high school. I still have the stone, but it is not nearly so beautiful...

c'est très beau!
I was really found of yours crocheted stones (in love with pebbles too, need to have strong pockets!) but this one is really great. Thanks for all you're giving.
Please excuse my french english...!

Behavioral reseach discloses that human relation at work are just easier, perhaps because they are more regular and
predictable and thus simpler to adjust to than the sporadic, the more intense and less regular relationship in the community.Do you understand?
