I love old library books with their cards still in them!

What great finds!

The Blue Castle is my favorite L.M. Montgomery book. That is a beautiful edition! I should look for one, I don't even own it although it's my favorite and I get it from the library every few years.
The Little House I do have, a copy from my childhood. What a wonderful book as well!

I can't believe you got that quilt for 25 cents!! The Little House is one of my favorites, too. :)

i look forward to more photos of the quilt.

I also love the Little House book. What a special copy you found! The leaves are so pretty. Especially the 5th photo with one leaf turning red.

I went to a Fair this week-end called "Le Salon des Vieux Papiers" (The Old Papers Fair). You would have LOVED it !
>> Old books, old photographs, old adverts, old labels, old postcards, ...

I was so happy, because I managed to find a wonderful book called "Josette et ses poupées" (Josephine & her dolls) by H.C Cradock with wonderful illustrations and cover (Honor C. Appleton) ! For 2€ !!! It is not in mint condition and a kid has coloured some of the black and white plates but still ! I have to take some pictures !

My edition is from 1933 and the ones I can find on the web are from 1937 or later and cost between 70 and 100€ ! Lucky !

Your finds seem equally magical :)
I've never heard of the "Blue Castle" but of course I love "Anne of Green Gables" and the cover is to die for !

Josephine, her dolls and I send you kisses from Paris,

I always love each of your photographs! They already influenced me how I look at nature.Great, what you provoked, isn't it?
excuse my poor english - I hope you understnd what I wanted to say!

In any case: thank you so much!

Confession: I am coveting your Little House find! I don't know why I never read this book as a child, but my mom bought a paperback version some years ago, and it quickly became a favorite of my boys. In fact, we all call her house--an old mill house they bought and fixed up--"The Little House" (which is why she bought the book in the first place). I love children's books because of their beautiful illustrations and simple way of teaching about the things that are really important.

Also, thank you for the Fall pics. We don't get much of a fall here in Louisiana, which is a shame since it's my favorite season. I'm not quite sure how I found your blog, but reading it in the morning when I first turn the computer on is one of the things I look forward to each day.

The carpets of colorful leaves are gorgeous. We went for a walk this weekend at one of our favorite gorges, and the colors were incredible. It's such a wonderful season!
