The heard frost of the last few nights resulted in a windfall of colorful leaves on the ground this weekend. Of course I saw this as a gift of materials for some ephemeral art. The only twist was the wind. It really didn't settle down at all until late Sunday afternoon so I tried my best to work on the more sheltered side of the porch. I refused to give up and move indoors because it just goes against the philosophy of environmental art. Of course Edgar also loves wet colorful leaves. He adores the way they smell.
Layering autumn leaves on my favorite weathered garden bench is becoming a little bit of a tradition. Here is the latest version.
A few have you have asked about those shoes of mine. They are kaffe fassett needlepoint shoes that used to be available as a kit. The skull on the colorful bench couldn't help but remind me of one of my mom's favorite artists, Georgia O'Keeffe. Hope I have helped give you a colorful start to your week.
Beautiful! I love the way your shoes blend in perfectly. :-)

Yay ! I KNEW these had to be Kaffe Fasset's brain-babies !
Thank you so much for sharing these fiery colours with us. Paris isn't that colourful ... But I'll soon visit my mum in Provence and the vines there have impossibly beautiful colours ! (I hope they'll still have leaves, though ...)
Kisses & Autumn Breeze to you,

That leaf arrangement inspires me to search out the very best fall yarns to begin a new ripple afghan!
Love your photos. What a gift you bestow on us!

Ah, a weathered bench with a leaf-frilled cushion, needlepointed shoes with leaf flames, and a Georgia O'Keefe reference to boot. I share your mother's enthusiasm for G.O.!!

wow, margie. those leaves are almost outrageous in their colours. in a way they make me think of a brightly coloured bird, i think it's the way you've layered them to be like feathers. stunning!
