"Hello, my name is Bärbel and I'm from germany. I live nearby the river rhine. If you like, I can get you a stone from the amazing river Rhine. It will be a pleasure for me and my daughter to search and send you a stone or two. Never mind the shipping costs. Every morning, I first have a look at your blog and I love everything I see and read. It makes my day, the rest of day is bonus. It's your debt, that I unpacked the crochethooks, sewing machine and the knittingneedles. Over 25 years the things were'nt used. Very kind and best wishes from Germany Bärbel" . That is a comment left on my blog in October of last year and in December a unique little box arrived in my very strong mailbox.
My daughter has already asked if she can borrow the gorgeous hand felted pin.
The two river snail shells in the clam shell really delighted us. What a thoughtful addition to the collection of river stones. I am in love with the colors here. The red clay color ink may inspire my next visit to the letterpress studio. I love petroglyphs.
I hope you are all having a peaceful weekend.
It is freezing cold outside but look the flowers of a WIP are blooming in the warmth indoors. We had some really warm (for January) weather earlier in the week and all the snails wintering in the gardenia pot woke up. I counted four , all different shapes and sizes. So fern has a family of his own now.
What a wonderful and thoughtful package.
Congratulations Fern! I am always amazed that you are able to keep a snail as a pet and now you have a whole family! oxo

I love how Bärbel beautifully wrapped her treasures. Do you plan to build one more room in your house for all the stones you get from all your friends ? :)
I'm so happy for your new little guests ! Fern is going to play hide and seek in your cheerful flowers with them !
