ingredients for a canadian thanksgiving feast:
friends and family
eat outdoors if possible or if not bring the outdoors in
root veggie baked fries with lemon garlic aoli
organic free range turkey with stuffing ( torn bread, onions fried in butter, celery, pecans, raisins, savory, thyme, rosemary and a tiny smidgen of sage)
brussel sprouts
golden potatoes
cranberry sauce
squash and apple bake ( acorn squash cooked flesh, tart cortland apple wedges, cream, butter, sprinkle of brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg placed in a baking dish and covered with old canadian cheddar , baked at 350 degrees for 30 minutes)
french bread
wine
for desert
pumpkin pie and fresh whipped cream

Thanks for sharing this wonderful celebration with us and for opening your door to us, Margie. There is magic in your home ! I love your adorable plate decoration and the menu is so yummy. Your feast makes me feel as in a tale, in a castle in the middle of the forest ... A doe would get a glimpse from the window and a hedgehog, invited by Fern and dressed in his best clothes, would ring the door ...

sounds like a lovely feast. we just finished ours here (including root veggies and aioli too!) and a good helping of wine. might have to settle down for my first long winter's nap a little early...
