Love the colors, their subtlety. I was hoping for some advise on good reference books for a beginner.

Looks like your dyeing assistant is overlooking your production. No wonder (s)he feels so at home, with such beautifully natural colours.

The new bundles are looking lovely indeed!

thanks for the continued dye education. i have wrapped up some cotton and stuck it in with the cedar that i have soaking, as the water is very reddish brown- we'll see what happens!

Your experiments are a pure enchantment and your dyeing diary filled with colors and textures a piece of art itself !
(I can see Fern in your lab, is he helping you or does he want to dye his shell ?)
Wish you good luck for your long Wednesday.

Hi Margie,
For your color journal, are you dying all the swatches in the same dye baths at the same time so all conditions and formulas are the same? My favorites are the blue and sage for this set. I love the bright yellow you got prior with the black oak. Thanks for all your inspiration. I hope you are having as much fun making the birdies as I am enjoying the result!

my eyes thank you so much for all these delicious colors, I think I love the lunaria & also the peonies best.
I have at long last managed to solve the "mystery" of the translation of noil in French ... it is exactly what I used for my first experiments, it's silk bourrette !!!
Thinking about you my friend. Thinking of you on your longest day at work. Take care xoxo

I really like all the snail models you have been featuring lately!

i love your dye journal: so scientific and orderly and yet personal.

Very nice, thanks for the information.

Elsita :)

Margie, the pictures of the book with the stones and the little pieces of fabrics are so beautiful! They would look amazing printed and framed on a very large size in a home or any special space.
Love from over here!
Elsi :)

Can't wait to see you journal in person ♥
