so many fantastic giveaways happening this week I decided to add to the fun.
Tell me your favorite thing about the autumn season by midnight sunday and you could win a few natural dyed crochet covered pebbles and your very own spore print ( if I can figure out a way to mail them without getting smudged).
(porch tabel with some of the treasures I brought home from Nova Scotia and some spore printing happening in the far right lower corner)
have a wonderful weekend

There are so many things I love about autumn, as it's my all-time favorite season! The colors, the general chill in the air, the CLOTHES! I think my ultimately though, I like the smells (fire, crisp) and that weird chill you feel in your chest when you go for a run or walk in the fall.

Goldenrod thickens along the hedgerow
and woodsmoke lures from across the field.
Leaves crunch and acorns pop underfoot
the tip of my nose grows colder.
The low drunken buzzing of bees round my ankles
feasting on the rot of fallen apples.
Pull sweater's sleeves down over my hands
and hum my way home for a cuppa...

i love best the sense of nostalgia, of loss, of things coming to a close, and turning within...warming up with pumpkin soup, bonfires, coffee, muffins, and good friends...knitting, sewing, making lists for holiday gifts...i love it all! thank you for your wonderful, amazing art and for this litany of the ways that we all love autumn!

I love autumn. Here are a few reasons why. I love the crispness in the morning when I walk our dog. I love picking apples, baking apple crisp and pulling out all the comfort food recipes. Of course I also love the changing colours of the leaves. So many things to love about autumn.

On the northern coast of California, where I live, autumn means an end to our cold, foggy summers. Warm, sunny days with almost no wnd on our usually blustery beaches. Your autumn is my summer!

My list could be long because my favourite season is autumn, but for me, it has to be fall knitting...I love wool!

what a fantastic giveaway! i love those spre prints (and the bamboo-stones too, of course.)
my favourite thing about autumn would have to be the light. and the joy of wrapping in warm clothes and textures after summer-wear.

here, soon it will be spring, with some of the most delicious berries, like jabuticaba and i can see the swallows flying around already. But talking about autumn, here is a bit different from yours, as we don't have all those wonderful colors everywhere and just a few trees loose their leaves, and those who do that will be flourishing in winter ( some of my faves, like the beautiful ipĂȘ)It's the beginning of the dry season, mild temperatures, and what i love the most, the sun light changes and it seems that the colors pop out more, because of the angle of the sun light.. colors are more intense and vivid and it's an amazing time to photographing. :)

I love the shorter days, the need to where a jacket, and the smell of the fire pit after a hard day of work. Autumn. thank you and I wish you all a wonderful season!

This year I especially look forward to fall and its cooler weather, living as I do in the south with its record highs. I love the crisp, clear mornings and getting to wear long sleeve shirts (we're still a ways from sweaters!) The colors of the trees make driving to work a joy. Football weather and cool walks. I could go on and on.

I hope I could post this on time! I live in tropical country, so, sadly i never had any experience with autumn. but in my heart I admire autumn, as my friends went aboard to subtropical country, i always ask them to bring me maple leaves and acorns which is none in my country. thank you for posting so many pictures of autumn. I really enjoy them <3

I love autumn, even though where I live there really isn't much notice that it is even here. But there is just that little nip in the air and a golden quality to the light that you don't find any other time of year. I love the colors and the holidays that come in the fall.

I feel like I have just been discovering Autumn for the first time these last few years. I come from a country where most of the trees are evergreen/ tropicals and Autumn is just a season where it slowly goes a bit colder.
Then I moved to Switzerland and oh boy, I got to experience the sudden-ness and beauty of that change for the first time. The trees are green one minute and then burst with colour and then, with a windy weekend, they are gone. The birds leave the country in big black clouds, swooping over my house and the markets fill with more pumpkin and gourd varieties than I could ever imagine existed.
I love getting my gumboots on and taking the kids for walks in the forest to discover treasures and then coming home to the smell of pumpkin soup in the crockpot at the end of it. Nothing beats it!

I love everything about the coming fall...but right now my favorite thing is the drive up to the house we moved into this spring....the trees are starting to turn and the next few weeks will be breathtaking
