two in our front garden, two in a neighbour's yard and four across the street

they were all safely rescued before the cats took any notice

This day was our longest day trip of the week, where we traversed the province in about two hours and explored the fundy coast ( famous for its spectacular tides) a bit. First we explored the minus basin in the town of Wolfville and then we went rock collecting at black rock cove. I am looking forward to photographing my treasures this weekend and sharing them with you.
it was low tide at the basin and the birdies were finding lots of things to eat in the beautiful red mud.
it was very refreshing dipping our feet in the fresh water spring coming from higher ground and enjoying some cool beverages.
the second seaside place I visited was just a walk away from my daughter's apartment in Halifax. It was point pleasant park. It is amazing to have such a large forested seaside park within the city.
it was so nice of macgyver to share his ledge with my treasures.

summer arrived in halifax late this year
I guess it was waiting for us to arrive
the first beach we visited was crystal crescent beach
where we found a wide variety of sea weeds washed up on the shore after hurricane irene
someone was a little tired from her travels:)
after traveling over 5000 km by car
moving 10 ( or was it 11) car loads of stuff for 4 lovely people
squeezing in time for brief yet very enjoyable trips to five beaches
where i collected some stones ( of course)
and took some pictures ( of course)
i was wondering what to post
and
decided
to post
the unexpected
which deserves at least a little explanation
when we were enjoying the summer weather that arrived on the east coast when we did ( coincidence?) I decided to go for a walk down martinique beach ( the longest sand beach in nova scotia)
i met up with some darling little birds balancing on one leg on the beach and wanted to change lenses ( to the macro)
on doing so I don't think I put the lense on tightly because when i checked the photographs that evening they were all super over exposed
i thought my camera was broken but thank goodness it wasn't
i was just going to delete all the pics of that day but when i took a closer look at them i actually like many of them
they have a very artsy look to them
i mean that in a good way
i wonder what you think....
