and if you believe the folklore saying that the thickness of the black stripes on this furry caterpillar is directly related to the harshness of winter , i think he is telling me winter has been cancelled this year:)
it was overcast last night so i missed seeing the harvest moon.
but i did see the harvest mushroom
xo
hello Margie, lovely shots as always..... the harvest moon has been quite brilliant here in England - I was in the kitchen this morning, looked out and saw it centre-stage in the sky.... enjoy your autumn

too bad you missed the moon, it was quite nice. i'd actually been enjoying it all weekend as it got close to full. and to echo Geninne, i too am glad autumn seems to have moved in to your blog - i hope there is lots of it before winter arrives (or not!).

I've always loved caterpillars. I made my dad pretty mad when I was about six. I collected all of the caterpillars off a whole row of his daisy plants but also stripped the daisies of all of their leaves (the caterpillars needed something good to eat, right?).

There were hoards of these caterpillars at the beach in Bouctouche NB, believe it or not! They didn't have stripes either. Oh no, I hope they are wrong, what would I do without my beloved snow??
