I just get the feeling that all of those little plants, lichen, whatever they are, popped their happy little heads out of the snow to say hello to you as you walked by. :)
Blue (a collaboration between me and my daughters): ocean, sky, tranquillity, peace, calm, serenity, depth, floating, relaxing, water, blue jeans, Atlantis, blueberries, blue jays, macaws and almost every wall in our house!

when i think of indigo, i think of lovely vat dye pot days. (i miss them!-- the large stainless steel pots on a concrete floor stained with years of splashed dyes)
in thinking of just 'blue': ice. dusk. chill, but an inner warmth. quiet. peace. a richness. water. depth. longing. loss.
with lighter shades of blue, or as it gets warmer, perhaps blue will mean air, life, longevity, opportunity.
funny how the weather changes our perceptions.
thank you for days and days of lovely images.

Mood indigo = Melancholy
But then it made me think of this:
THE BABY
Where did you come from, baby dear?
Out of the everywhere into the here.
Where did you get those eyes so blue?
Out of the sky as I came through.
What makes the light in them sparkle and spin?
Some of the starry spikes left in.
Where did you get that little tear?
I found it waiting when I got here.
What makes your forehead so smooth and high?
A soft hand stroked it as I went by.
What makes your cheek like a warm white rose?
I saw something better than anyone knows.
Whence that three-cornered smile of bliss?
Three angels gave me at once a kiss.
Where did you get this pearly ear?
God spoke, and it came out to hear.
Where did you get those arms and hands?
Love made itself into bonds and bands.
Feet, whence did you come, you darling things?
From the same box as the cherub's wings.
How did they all just come to you?
God thought about me, and so I grew.
But how did you come to us, you dear?
God thought about you, and so I am here.

Lovely photos.
Hmm, blue is different from mood indigo. Blue can be electric, sky, royal, clear, sea and on and on.
Mood indigo makes me think of Holly Golightly's 'mean reds'. It's deep and dark and sad.
Good luck with your project!

Blue is who I am. Blue is A Blue Tale, by Marguerite Yourcenar. Blue is the color of skies, dreams, spiritual life... In Spanish, blue is "azul" (the pronunciation is similar to "azure"), and Azul is the name of my lovely niece...
