Soothing, calming, deep,

Can't wait to see your show (and regretting not to be able to see it in person)
PS : I love the way sporophytes & pixie cups pop out of the thin layer of snow

Calm, peaceful, water, meditative

so happy to see Happy Valley - calm, peace, sleep

winter sky, periwinkles, blue jays, little boys (I have 2, and you can't avoid all the blue clothes)

peace, deep, cold

indigo is...irresistible, deep, saturated, nuanced, ancient, precious, rich, haunting,...

I just get the feeling that all of those little plants, lichen, whatever they are, popped their happy little heads out of the snow to say hello to you as you walked by. :)

Blue (a collaboration between me and my daughters): ocean, sky, tranquillity, peace, calm, serenity, depth, floating, relaxing, water, blue jeans, Atlantis, blueberries, blue jays, macaws and almost every wall in our house!

Faded blue = time-worn care
Indigo blue = enveloping silence
Dark inky blue = music of the spheres
Rich royal blue = Yves Klein
Bright sky blue = lying in the grass
Cold grey-blue = windswept North-Atlantic shores
Warm turquoise blue = sun on skin
Frosty pale blue = early morning snow shimmer
Deep green blue = sweet baby James
Palest woad blue = my favourite colour

(can't wait to see your blue project!)

when i think of indigo, i think of lovely vat dye pot days. (i miss them!-- the large stainless steel pots on a concrete floor stained with years of splashed dyes)

in thinking of just 'blue': ice. dusk. chill, but an inner warmth. quiet. peace. a richness. water. depth. longing. loss.

with lighter shades of blue, or as it gets warmer, perhaps blue will mean air, life, longevity, opportunity.

funny how the weather changes our perceptions.
thank you for days and days of lovely images.

What was that wire looking thing in picture 464?

Blue isn't my favorite color, in fact it's my least favorite. But, here's some words anyway:

my baby's eyes

cool, air, water, deep,

mood indigo:
calm, safe, peace, love
water, ocean, deep, hidden, cool,
sky, clear, big,
bluebird, blueberry, blue eyes
cornflower, periwinkle, hyacinth, muscari, forget-me-not,
indigo, cobalt, royal, sapphire, baby, turquoise, cyan, ultramarine, prussian

Lisa B

calm, peaceful, bluebirds, dreaming, clarity

open, singing, heavenly, watery, deep, peace

Blue, μπλέ, sea blue or sky blue, the blue in the eyes of someone we love, blue and white all time favourite colour on the Greek flag, in my beach house bedroom, the blue of the school notebooks and the paint on the school walls, rare cobalt blue sea glass finds on my beach! My favourite colour in all its hues!Light and bright, pale and dark!AriadnefromGreece!

Mood indigo = Melancholy
But then it made me think of this:

Where did you come from, baby dear?
Out of the everywhere into the here.

Where did you get those eyes so blue?
Out of the sky as I came through.

What makes the light in them sparkle and spin?
Some of the starry spikes left in.

Where did you get that little tear?
I found it waiting when I got here.

What makes your forehead so smooth and high?
A soft hand stroked it as I went by.

What makes your cheek like a warm white rose?
I saw something better than anyone knows.

Whence that three-cornered smile of bliss?
Three angels gave me at once a kiss.

Where did you get this pearly ear?
God spoke, and it came out to hear.

Where did you get those arms and hands?
Love made itself into bonds and bands.

Feet, whence did you come, you darling things?
From the same box as the cherub's wings.

How did they all just come to you?
God thought about me, and so I grew.

But how did you come to us, you dear?
God thought about you, and so I am here.

Lovely photos.

Hmm, blue is different from mood indigo. Blue can be electric, sky, royal, clear, sea and on and on.
Mood indigo makes me think of Holly Golightly's 'mean reds'. It's deep and dark and sad.
Good luck with your project!

Blue is who I am. Blue is A Blue Tale, by Marguerite Yourcenar. Blue is the color of skies, dreams, spiritual life... In Spanish, blue is "azul" (the pronunciation is similar to "azure"), and Azul is the name of my lovely niece...
