a few more mittens from my collection
these are referred to as trigger finger mitts and used to be really popular in the Newfoundland. I also heard them referred to as glittens ( what you get as offspring when a mitten and a glove get together:)
the blue and white ones on the far left are unfinished and have a tale to unravel
that i will share in a future post
i promise
a few lovely mitten links
here
and
Those are amazing! I need some trigger finger mittens :) Not exactly for triggers though. More like accessible fingers to fish keys and dog treats from my pockets when I go on winter walks. Taking my mittens off to find such things is my downfall, that's where the single mitten loss begins for me.
I adore the knitted patterns in all of these, especially the pair with the tags. Jx

Robin Hansen lives in my area and has written several books about traditional knitted mittens. Yours look like they came out of the pages of her book!

I love the word 'glittens'! I find my fingers stay warmer in mittens. I often lose the feeling in the tips of my fingers(raynaud's syndrome)when it is very cold and I wear gloves. Mittens help. Yours are beautiful.

I love them all! I just wish we had a cold enough winter to wear them!

I am loving your new Mitten Monday posts :) Where do they come from- did you knit all of them or do they have different stories?

Love the mittens, especially the blue and white ones at the end. I'm left with one pair of gloves, they don't keep me warm, lost all the others? I'm going to hunt some mittens down!

"Glitten" is new to me, and I love it.

LOVE the mittens!
I'm currently crocheting a pair of glittens for my oldest boy because he says he's too old for mittens and doesn't like them. so I was a bit surprised to come across another pair of three fingered mittens since they're a little obscure these days :)
