We were always so excited as kids to find puffballs and make them smoke. Almost as fun as finding nice big pieces of mica to peel... Magic is all around us.

I looked up puffballs because of your post and was interested to find out that they were used in Tibet to make ink. I was a rockhound when I was young and mica was one of my favourite finds. :)

we used to love to stomp on the puffballs when i was a kid, to send up those clouds. okay, sometimes i still do. :)

oh, puffballs! i have memories of giant white ones on the way to school- perfect for children and their grumboots to stomp on :)
