puzzled by the title of this post
or at least intrigued
these are not yoga poses but the names of four artists studios that have been built
by saunders architecture on fogo island
a project of the shorefast foundation and fogo island arts
they are scattered around the island, some easier to hike to that others
all are built with the topography of the land and view for the artist and visitor taken into account
and all are ecological
the artists work in the studio and live within the community in renovated old houses
i had the pleasure of meeting one of the artists, working in the bridge studio, jerry ropson
he describes himself as a storyteller
i will look forward to hear what stories he will be telling after spending a summer on fogo island

hard to pick a favourite

What cool studios. Somehow they made very modern structures fit the rustic surroundings.

They bring to mind the designs of Frank Lloyd Wright. How fabulous to be able to make art in such a wonderful place!

You may be responsible for an uptick in visitors to Fogo Island. It's certainly on my list after seeing your beautiful pictures. I agree that it is a lot like Norway, esp. the Lofoten Islands.
