i have dreams
indigo dreams
i dream of making the biggest vat i can muster up
and before the outdoor dyeing season is done
(ps jack frost , please don't visit too soon this year, xo)
i want to fold, twist, tie, clamp, meters and meters of natural fabrics
so that when the cold wind blows and the land of resurrection fern is under
a carpet of white
things will be beautiful shades of indigo blue on the inside
and i will be stitching
thinking of the sea, the sky, blueberries, my darling lilith's eyes .....

Gorgeous! I too hope the outdoor dye season does not fade too quickly. Here's to a happy mild autumn. Lovely photos as always.

Le sigh ... you're making me dream with you ... I hope you will get an Indian summer, and that you'll manage to dye loads & loads with indigo before the cold season comes.
xoxo

It's beautiful! I recently took a natural dyeing workshop and now I'm anxious to try more. we used plant materials, indigo, cochineal, and madder.

Beautiful Margie. I have indigo dreams too (largely thanks to you). It just so happens that I'm taking an indigo dyeing workshop this weekend and I'm SO excited!!! I've been spinning some lovely natural merino all week to dunk in the vat. I can't wait!

Those are the prettiest dreams. I hope you can get enough dye time in to cocoon yourself in blues. xo
