Dear blog
sorry to have ignored you for so long
didn't really plan this but i have been super busy with family, work and making since the new year
i mean if you had to choose between playing in the snow or baking cookies with lilith and lachlan in your precious spare time or typing on a computer
what would you do
yes
of course
I did want to show you the work for my group art show Terrain at the Craft Ontario Shop (formerly the guild shop) in Yorkville, Toronto running from March 23 to April 12.
my work was inspired by the north, the landscape of sea, snow and ice for the majority of the year and then the uncovered tundra with its mosses, grasses , sedges and lichen with its ever so brief appearance of arctic wildflowers
the stage for these photographs was created with ice globes made by freezing water in balloons
this was facilitated by the deep freeze experienced all of the month of february
when I photographed these it was snowing softly
it was worth my frozen finger tips

Glad to see you here, I was kind of missing you in this space, I admitt. (Instagram "stole" so many bloggers) But you live your offline life fully & that's what matters.
I wish I could visit this show, and see these stunning pieces even closer. How gorgeous !

WOW, love the covered stones. Your work is amazing. (Especially fond of tundra.) The ice balls or COOL!
And yes time with the Grandbabies far outweighs spending time blogging. They grow so fast. Enjoy them, hugs to all....

These pieces are so pretty! Feels like home returning here and seeing your covered stones. The water balloon sculptures are so fun and perfect backdrops. I just returned from an even longer interval for similar reasons. Enjoy this lovely show. xx

What beautiful pieces. I live in the desert and it is summer here at the moment (well, OK, autumn has just begun but it is still 40 deg centigrade). I had just the most lovely sense of the landscapes around you from looking at your work. Very evocative.

So happy to hear that you are well and enjoying your time. Was a bit concerned for you and the family. Lovely work as always. Really enjoy the dark colors - so evocative of your travels. All the best for the new show

Oy, I have been ignoring my blog too, so badly - but also from all the making I've been doing, I hate to be on the computer. This work is absolutely stunning, peaceful, beautiful, I see all these inspirations etched in them. You are such an inspiration to me, I love to visit here - no matter how infrequent the posts, because as I said, I understand this completely :) I have been loving your instagram, too. Happy spring...
