just dropped in for a little hello and to let you know i am well
and life is so beautiful and full right now
i spend almost all my free time with my grandchildren
lilith and lachlan
who are both growing in beauty and grace
my heart swells so much sometimes that i feel it literally may burst
we have been exploring the garden , forest, local parks but their favourite place is the wetlands
the preserved eco system that is between this town and the one just north
here we see turtles, frogs (all shapes and sizes), fish, heron, duck families, geese, beaver, deer, snails both aquatic and land
lili informs most people we meet on the trail not to step on the snails and is usually met with a smile
they love the surrounding meadow and the abundance of wild flowers in june
we usually bring a snack or picnic lunch and sit on a bench listening to the chorus of frogs
lili holds on the memory of these outings and talks about them for days usually starting with
the phrase : "oma, remember when ....."
this past weekend while lachlan was napping lili went up stairs and changed into a dress i had made for her last year
when she arrived down on the porch she asked if we could make her a crown
this is what happened

O my goodness. I love this post. Lily and Lachlen as such lucky children. What a fun Oma you are. :) Your nature hikes sound wonderful and Lily warning hikers not to step on the snail. Delightful. Have a fabulous camping trip.

She is a beautiful child, I can quite see why they fill their Oma's heart. My own fresh minted first grandchild is now 5 weeks old, how did that happen? He is of course adorable too.
