The weather is turning cool this week and may even tip just below freezing overnight. Time to bring the color indoors and find a suitable warm cozy place for the indigo and woad fermentation vats. I am thinking the warm south facing kitchen will be the best choice. That is where I was was shooting the product shots for my etsy shop. It was also a wonderful surprise to see my favorite etsy shop couple as the featured sellers today.
This was really such a happy colorful family of stones and pebbles that it will be hard for me to send them out into the world.
ps there are still some beautiful hand dyed stones and scarves in the shop. This might be the last update before the season of giving. If you would like any of the bamboo pebbles turned in to brooches just send a little message after purchase.

I was hoping to do an etsy shop update tomorrow but I have to push it back to monday since the sun just refused to come out today. Almost all the leaves are off the trees now and winter can't be far behind. The birds and squirrels are sensing this and so am I. We added a fresh coat of paint to the kitchen and brought in the succulents that had been enjoying the porch all summer. I have also started drying my dyeing experiments on a little line in the kitchen window.

so far unidentified berry that would not release it's color for over a week in the dye bath and then gave a really lovely warm shade of brown.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that there will be enough light for some photography tomorrow.

The stones are in the mail now and on their way to various locations in europe, australia, canada and the usa. I packaged everything up last night and this morning hauled it all off to the post office. The packaging was extra special for this lucky friday the 13th shop update. While I was sleeping the very last bamboo stone was sold. Thank you so much for your support.
i definitely want to make a few more little pouches with with my hand carved stamps on them for myself now. After all that work and all the constant rain today all I wanted to do for the rest of the day was curl up in a chair or find a petal to sleep in.

If i manage to get some photographs taken in the morning I will have at least 25 stones for sale tomorrow in two installments at 9 am eastern standard time and 7 pm.There are the traditional white or off white covered stone, natural dyed stones in wonderful colors and the very wonderful natural dyed crochet covered bamboo stones in gorgeous shades of nature.
i even have a natural dyed missing pieces stone made but i am not sure i can part with it quite yet.

some eagle eyed readers caught a glimpse of one of these stones in the last post. I dyed some stones that I had already covered with white or off white coats in baths of alkanet, logwood, cutch and alder catkins. None of the stones were mordanted.
almost as fun as seeing the dye on the stones was the patterns and colors left on the paper the stones were lying on after being fetched from the pots.
some of these stones and some of the natural dyed crochet covered bamboo stones will be part of my next etsy shop update on lucky friday the 13th of may , in two installments, 7 am and 7 pm eastern standard time.
Those that will be receiving their RF crafting for courage orders soon may notice something extra special. I have the most beautiful new business cards made by arounna. The blind embossed crochet covered stone segment was taken from my photographic image of my old favorite stone. It is such a gorgeous day today and most of my chores are done so I am leaving the WIP on my desk ( and the kitties sleeping on the couch) and heading out back to work on the garden.
